Proudly Nigerian is geared towards strongly influencing procurement in public and private sectors in order to increase local production, as well as influence consumers to buy local and stimulate job creation. This is in line with government’s plans to revive and diversify Nigeria’s economy so that millions of jobs can be created and unemployment can be drastically reduced. Proudly Nigerian hopes to synergise with the government and other relevant stakeholders to set agenda on production and consumption of Nigerian products in a bid to consolidate on territorial independence and self-reliance that characterise a stable economy. The initiative is also targeted at locating, recognizing, supporting and celebrating Nigeria and Nigerians, including those in diaspora.
At least 60% of the cost of production must be incurred in Nigeria.

The product or service must be of a proven high quality for example, it must be accredited by relevant accreditation agencies in Nigeria, or have a certificate of any other accreditation organisation.
FAIR LABOUR PRACTICE
The company must comply with the current labour legislation and adhere to fair labour practices.
The company must be environmentally responsible and adhere to production processes that are environmentally friendly and acceptable. Even for service-based companies – recycling, waste management, carbon footprint reduction, etc.
